Dear Expectant Parents,
Thank you for beginning to consider us as adoptive
parents. Choosing to entrust your child to others must
be an incredibly difficult decision for you to make and
we admire and respect you for considering your options.
Our names are David and Kristie and we are from
Washington. We are a young, married, professional
couple. We love children and we are anxiously looking to
expand our family through an open adoption. We love kids
and are crazy about our dogs; we have 3 silly and loving
miniature pinchers named Lola, Sully and Peaches.
We have been married for 4 years. Our hobbies include
playing with our dogs, camping and going to concerts at
The Gorge in eastern Washington and attending sporting
events (huge baseball fans here!) We have recently taken
in our first Broadway musical “Wicked” and we enjoy
taking day hikes at the local hiking trails near our
home. We laugh a lot and revel in
the joy and silliness that life can bring. Barbecues,
camping, laughing, hiking, ice cream, sports, vacations,
board game nights, family and hanging out with each
other are just a few things that our family loves.
Our jobs allow us to live a
comfortable life and provide a better future for our
family. Together, we make a good income that makes us
very comfortable. It is important to us that we provide
the best possible opportunities for our child. We are
very excited about becoming first time parents. We are
looking forward to bedtime stories, walks to the park
and family dinnertime.
David has worked in law enforcement for 7 years. He
could never see himself in any other career and has
pride in the fact that he keeps the public safe. David
is an only child and has always been close to his
parents. He talks or emails them several times during
the week and we try to get together for dinner once a
week.
Kristie works at a local hospital in Labor and Delivery
as a surgical assistant. Being able to help bring life
into the world is definitely the highlight of Kristie’s
entire career. Prior to this new career, Kristie worked
as an EMT in Seattle for 4 years. Being the older of two
children, Kristie enjoys hanging out with her brother
who is excited to be an Uncle. We are fortunate to live
close to Kristie’s mom and dad’s home and often spend
time barbecuing and camping together. Kristie has
recently taken up photography as a hobby and often David
is feeling like he is living with the paparazzi.
Kristie also enjoys cooking new and exciting
dishes.
We own a three bedroom, two bathroom home
in the suburbs and love our community due to the fact
that is quiet, safe and close to hiking and a popular
walking/biking trail. Also it is close to our families.
We live in a great, family
oriented neighborhood with a great school system.
It is residential and safe, filled with lots of young
children, and away from the craziness of the city.
When we first started talking about extending our family
years ago, adoption was definitely an option we
discussed. We desire to have a life-long relationship
with the birthparents and love the idea of Open Adoption
and what it means to all families involved. The two of
us look forward to staying close to the birth family
throughout the years, as the child grows. We truly
believe it is in the best interest of a child to have
his/her birthparents in their life.
To say that we are excited about adoption would be an
understatement.
We are ecstatic for the opportunity to expand our
family. We know we would provide a stable, fun and
loving home for any child.
A child in our household will be raised with strong and
consistent values of love and integrity. We will provide
a child with a happy, secure and nurturing home where he
or she will be supported, educated and loved
unconditionally.
We believe it is important that children are taught
values and principles with love and patience. We plan to
provide an atmosphere of trust, love and support in our
home. This is done when parents put their children
first. We also feel that it is essential to spend time
together as a family. It is important to take the time
to help children develop their own talents and
interests, even if they are different than our own. We
look forward to outings as a family, coaching our
children in sports, attending recitals, starting our own
traditions, helping with homework and starting a college
fund, traveling and enjoying various other activities as
we help them grow.
We feel honored that
you are taking the time to look at our information and
we wish you the best
in whatever your decision might be.
Best Wishes,
David and Kristie
