Dear Expectant Parent:
We would like to start off by thanking you for taking
the time to consider our family and we honor what an
important decision this is for you. We are truly excited
about the possibility of raising a child and appreciate
that you are taking the time to read about us.
How we Met:
We met at a social function in Seattle, and within
moments realized we had so much in common! Ironically,
we had led somewhat parallel lives, growing up in the
same hometown, going to the same grade school for a
number of years, and even attending the same college and
yet our paths never actually crossed. When we did
finally meet, years later, we were completely amazed and
wondered why we hadn’t found each other sooner! Needless
to say, we feel lucky to be together and have developed
a strong sense of destiny. For both of us, our dream has
been to have children and raise a family. It seems we
are happiest when we are with family and it's that
feeling of joy and togetherness that we want to share
with a child.
Our Day to Day Life:
Greg is a CPA for a local accounting firm and Martina
works in finance at a nonprofit organization.
Our typical weekends include a visit with at
least one or two family members, taking our dogs to the
park or the beach, a trip to the local farmers markets &
working on seasonal home projects.
Greg's passion is music and he still occasionally
plays guitar with his band on weekends. Martina enjoys
gardening, preparing healthy meals, and the outdoors. We
also both enjoy reading, traveling and hiking.
Our Families:
We both come from very loving families and are very
close with our parents, brothers and sisters, nieces and
nephews, cousins, etc. Most of our large extended family
live within an hour or less of our home and we are able
to see them on a regular basis. Our family gatherings
include holidays and birthday celebrations where we
especially enjoy seeing our nieces and nephews full of
anticipation and excitement! Family activities include
short day trips, salmon bakes, bon fires on the beach,
kayaking, board games and cards. Martina, in particular,
has a very large extended family of multiple generations
who live in close proximity to each other. Her family's
beach cabin serves as the first choice for gatherings
for her side of the family... especially in the warmer
months! We usually take a trip with Greg’s family to
Hawaii or California at a child friendly resort, every
couple of years. We feel the strong extended family we
have provides a wonderful secure environment in which to
raise a child. Both of our families would be extremely
excited to have a new child to welcome into our circle.
Our Community:
We were both raised in Washington State and currently
live in a suburb nestled on the water between Seattle
and Tacoma. It is a family oriented community with many
parks, lakes, beaches and hiking trails.
Many of these parks are within walking distance
and there are lots of children to play with in our
neighborhood. There are a number of community and
recreational facilities which include two aquatic
centers and even a water and amusement theme park.
Our community also offers summer camps for youth
as well as many classes and activities for kids. Our
local school district is known as a leader in continual
innovation among public schools in the state.
We want you to know that we will raise our children with
devotion, love and attention. It is our goal to be
involved in their lives in a meaningful way, by helping
him or her to develop confidence, individuality and
compassion. Most of all we want to be there for them to
provide a secure and safe environment in which they can
just be themselves and grow into the beautiful person
they were meant to be. We truly encourage your
involvement in an open adoption and please know that you
will always be honored in our home. We will embrace you
in our lives and your child will always know they are
loved by you.
Sincerely,
Greg & Martina
