Dear Birthparents,
We are honored to be able to share with you a
snapshot of our lives. We present this to you
realizing what a hard decision awaits and our
thoughts are with you and your child. We
appreciate your openness and honesty and hope
our little book will open our lives to you.
Allow me to introduce my husband Kevin. He is
the man of my dreams! He is a kind and loving
husband. He is a fun, loving, generous and fair
father. Kevin enjoys the outdoors which is great
since he has been an arborist and park
supervisor for the past nineteen years. He loves
to come home and tell me about an amazing tree
or a new kind of playground equipment. During
his free time he enjoys fishing, outdoor
activities and volunteering to help different
civic groups with their creation of new gardens
and landscaping. He also leads our church youth
group and has taken them to
Mexico to work on orphanage
grounds and to Europe
twice. One of my favorite parts of being married
to Kevin is watching him with our two girls. He
is always willing to show them how something
works, to have them come along and help with
special projects. He gets how important it is to
slow down and read “just one more story”, how
making a memory by taking a trip, doing a craft
or playing a game thrills the hearts of our
girls. He also isn’t afraid to tell the girls
and me how much he loves us everyday with his
words and actions. Kevin has walked a road few
have traveled on when he lost his wife of
fourteen years and two children in a fatal car
crash seven years ago. He embraces each day,
moment and life for what it is a precious gift.
He is a gem amongst men.
Let me introduce my wife Carolyn. I met Carolyn
over twelve years ago when my daughter was in
her first
grade classroom. Little did I know what twists
and turns my life would take. She is a fun and
loving wife. Our girls are the apple of her eye.
She is a kindergarten and first grade teacher
who gets into her job and quite often has paint
or other art supplies on her clothing by the end
of the day. During her free time she enjoys
playing the piano, gardening and doing different
crafts with the girls. She has the courage to do
really hard things that others might not dare to
do. Over seven years ago she made the decision
to adopt our first daughter as a single parent,
three years later she returned to China to adopt
our second daughter traveling alone with both
girls. She isn’t afraid to seize the moment and
lives life in awe of the wonder of it all.
We have two beautiful daughters who dance across
the hearts of people they meet. Our oldest just
turned seven and is in the first grade (her mom
is her teacher). She loves every aspect of
country living and can’t wait to check on our
dogs, cats, goats and chickens when she comes
home from school. She loves to read, write and
play the piano. She and her sister often times
spend hours playing dress up, baby dolls, and
kitchen. Our youngest is three and has a love of
animals and all things furry. She enjoys talking
to “her” chickens and checking on their progress
when ever she can. She enjoys singing, dancing
and doing musical parades with her big sister.
Our family has been waiting to see who our
newest member will be so that we can shower that
precious child with lots of love and laughter.
The girls are anxious to have a sibling to join
in all of their fun and crazy adventures. Kevin
and I are hoping to have another bundle of joy
to nurture. We can’t wait to see how our
children’s lives are in the years to come as we
watch them grow into young adults having had the
best we can give in education, life experience
and love.
It is our desire that these photos and few words
will give you an idea of who we are, what we
value and were we have come from. Our family is
one made up of second chances and new
beginnings.
With Love,
Kevin and Carolyn
