As
the India Program Director, Lisa is responsible
for all aspects of facilitating Adoption
Services for families adopting from India. She
has worked in the field of adoption for over 20
years and has been involved with the India
Program for over 10 years. She brings a wealth
of wisdom and knowledge to the position. She has
the extraordinary opportunity to work with
talented, qualified, and gifted co-workers at
the agency to carry out Journeys of the Heart’s
mission and goals. She has developed and
maintained great working relationships with
orphanages and government authorities in India.
Lisa travels
to India regularly and this hands-on work allows
her to grow these relationships and to interact
with and evaluate the available children. This,
in turn, gives Lisa invaluable insight into
placing these children with their forever
family.
Lisa has
extensive training in working with parents,
specializing in the areas of grief and loss, and
coordinating family dynamics workshops. Her
comprehensive experience in the field of
adoption includes coordination of pre-adopt
services, teaching education programs, and
conducting searches and facilitating reunions
for birth parents and adoptees. Lisa has been
the guest speaker at numerous conferences on
many vital topics.
Lisa is committed to
providing essential services to families, with a
focus on the health of the whole family unit.
Her broad experience in the scope of adoption,
both personally and professionally, combined
with her warm and deeply caring nature, makes
her an excellent leader and family advocate. She
is a parent of seven children, four of whom came
to her family through international adoption.
She is also the grandparent of nine children,
two of whom were adopted from India. |
