Dear Expectant Parents,

Hi there!  Our names are Mike and Julie!  We want to share with you how grateful and genuinely humbled we are by your courage, strength, and your sincere love for your unborn child.  We are sincerely honored that you are considering us as potential adoptive parents!  We welcome you and invite you to learn as much as you possibly can about us as you discern and develop your perfect adoption plan for your baby.  Mike and I are so excited to share our lives with you so that you can learn what we are all about!  We are thrilled that we may one day have the incredible opportunity to learn more about you and to meet you in person!

We (Mike and Julie) agree that we are truly kindred spirits!  We were introduced by special friends several years ago and quickly developed a sincere friendship that evolved into an incredible and life changing relationship!  We have been together ever since and look forward to spending the rest of our lives together!  We are very passionate about our love story and are 100% committed to one another in every way.  We are a very happily married couple with strong morals, a true faith in God, and a very special love for children.  We have a healthy, pure, honest, respectful, and loving marriage.  We strive to build each other up in every way and believe in validating one another on a daily basis.  Our relationship is continually renewed by our faith in each other and our diligence to be committed to one another with every part of our being!

We believe we are a beautiful family; however, our true desire is to have a child… to love, care for, and learn from.  Mike and I have been through extensive infertility testing and medical procedures which have been consistently unsuccessful.  We have hope, however, and believe that we may one day be blessed with a child, thanks to you, through this incredible journey of adoption.  Please know that your genuineness, compassion, and love for life will play a significant role in our lives.  We thank you for choosing the gift of “life” for your child!  Mike and I cannot imagine, or begin to imagine, what this season of your life must be like.  We can, however, empathize with you and pray for you, as well as share our deepest hopes and dreams of how your tough season and our tough season together can create an absolutely beautiful life for your precious child.  We will be praying that you continue to have the strength, support, and courage throughout your pregnancy to make the best decision for you and for your baby.  Please know that without special individuals like you, families like us would never, ever have the opportunity to be parents.  Through your genuine and courageous act of love, our lives will be changed forever!

My Mike. . . Mike is so precious! He is strong, but calm, kind hearted, compassionate, and he is an incredibly humble man. He has a gentle heart and manner and sees the positive qualities in everyone.  He is genuine, as well as pure and loving.  While gentle and initially shy, Mike is also funny, intelligent, and courageous!  Mike is sincerely passionate about life and about living each day with optimism one day at a time. He exudes strong morals, a solid character, self-confidence, self-motivation, as well as a happy and fun loving personality. I have an unbelievable amount of respect for my husband... He is my perfect caregiver.  He is my strength, my protector, and my very best friend!

Mike works as a lead mechanical designer with a prominent engineering firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He uses computer programs, as well as hand sketching, to design intricate piping systems for many of the large plants, such as Exxon, Chevron, and BP.  His work is similar to that of an architect... in that he must perceive, visualize, and intricately develop 3-dimensional designs, specifically piping systems. He is very hard working and very well respected. He is considered one of the most talented designers in his profession.  For Fun, Mike enjoys fishing, hunting, exercising, running, camping, snow skiing, reading, tailgating at football games, and spending quality time with family and friends. He loves to watch football, especially LSU football!  He also enjoys designing and building furniture and is incredibly talented with most woodworking projects.  Mike has a 24 foot bay boat and loves to spend time on the water! He enjoys taking family and friends fishing. Mike is a true outdoors man!

My Julie. . . Julie is a true gift to me from God. She is my best friend, my beautiful wife, and my everlasting partner in life. She is a very smart, energetic, bubbly, vivacious, and happy person.  I have so much appreciation and respect for her as a person and as my wife. Julie has such a brilliant aura about her. I see people light up whenever she is around. Julie is a very sensitive, caring, and empathetic woman and she appreciates and respects individual differences in people.  She believes that morals, honesty, self-respect, accountability, and forgiveness are extremely important in life.  Julie is an honest, accepting, and selfless woman and she is an incredible caregiver!  She demonstrates so much love and patience with people, especially children. She has a wonderful and gentle manner with children. I know, for a fact, she was put on this earth to be a mommy!

Julie is a pediatric occupational therapist. She has devoted the last 14 years of her life to working with, caring for, and absolutely adoring children with special needs. She believes that she was meant to be an occupational therapist and was introduced to this unique profession at 7 years of age when her youngest sister, Genie, was born with Down Syndrome.

Genie is so precious, pure, and full of life! Julie loves the special children she works with, and has learned so much about life, love, and acceptance from each and every one of them!  For fun, Julie loves exercising, bike riding, playing tennis, bird feeding/bird watching, fishing, camping, baking cakes, cooking, snow skiing, and spending time with her wonderful husband, family and friends!

Together, we thoroughly enjoy any and all outdoor activities and we look forward to our annual vacations to the mountains and to the beach!  Growing up, we were both involved in many team and individual sports and we believe these experiences have helped us to remain active in our adulthood.  We look forward to sharing our active and energetic lifestyles with a child!  We plan to expose our child to many individual and team/group activities and sports, while encouraging and respecting personal likes/dislikes as well as independent decision making.

As a couple and as future parents, we feel very strongly about education, faith, honesty, and personal character.  We promise to provide our child with a safe, healthy, financially secure, emotionally secure, and loving home, always.  As parents, we promise to love our child unconditionally and to accept him/her for being a unique individual.  We will strive to instill moral values, strong character, self-confidence, independence, and the best education in our child.  Throughout their development, we intend to provide our child with a solid foundation and the tools to become a successful, well-adjusted, and confident adult.  We will encourage compassion, playfulness, and an understanding of true acceptance of others.

We live in a large subdivision in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (approximately 45 minutes from New Orleans, Louisiana) with many growing families, most with young, active children.  Our home is nestled on a large (3/4 acre lot) with lots of trees and open space for a swing set, jungle gym, and lots of kid’s toys!  Our home consists of 4 large bedrooms with 3 full bathrooms.  We are fortunate to have very large eat-in kitchen and an “extra” room which we intend to eventually develop into a playroom!  We live around the block from our neighborhood park and swimming pool, both within walking distance.  Baton Rouge is a great city with many fun and rewarding opportunities for children and adults!  There are wonderful private schools in the surrounding area as well as many parks, malls, bike trails, tennis courts, open play fields, and of course…  Louisiana State University, home of the LSU Tigers!  LSU is bordered and surrounded by beautiful lakes, walking paths, nature trails, a beach, and several playgrounds!  The campus is family friendly and beautiful to explore on the weekends!  LSU tailgating during football season with family and friends is a MUST… and is always so much fun!  We can’t wait to share these incredible opportunities and experiences with our child one day!

We have many close friends who have children, as well as family who live near by!  Both of our parents have been married for over 35 years!  We often gather with friends and family for bar-b-ques, pool parties, birthdays, recreational sport activities, and seasonal festivities on the weekends.  We share ALL holidays and birthdays with immediate and extended family.  Our families are very large with many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts and uncles!  Julie’s Maw Maw is 84 years old and continues to be an inspiration and incredible role model for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   She shares so much love with her family!  We can’t wait for her to meet our precious baby!  We appreciate and value our families and are passionate about our traditional holiday celebrations, especially Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter where we gather with lots of presents, good times, and of course, tons of yummy food!  There is an overwhelming amount of love that is shared within our families.  They cannot wait to share their love with our new baby.  Our child WILL be showered with lots of acceptance and love!

We want you to know that we will always respect, value, and honor you and your life choices and decisions as the birth mother of our child.  We intend to share with our child about your genuine and unconditional love for them as well as your commitment to him/her from a very early age.  We will educate our child on open adoption and always express how truly special it is to be adopted and loved by two mommies and daddies!  We hope to have the opportunity to share pictures with you, exchange letters, and visit on occasion, if you wish, so that you can follow your child’s life journey and feel confident that he/she is valued, appreciated, and loved completely and unconditionally.

In closing, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your taking the time to learn about us.   We hope and pray that you are able to make a peaceful decision as to whether or not you feel that we have the qualities, character traits, and family values that you are looking for.  You have an incredible responsibility and we respect your every decision.  We will be diligent in praying for you and your unborn baby.  May God give you strength, courage, and peace as your journey unfolds and as you make one of the most important decisions in your life.

Much love,

Mike and Julie
