Our Letter  I  Our Slideshow

Dear Expectant Parents,

We deeply admire your strength and courage as you consider adoption.  We recognize that your decision to create an adoption plan is an act of unconditional love for your child.  We have been praying for a child for several years.  When we were not able to conceive our own, we were immediately excited about adopting.  The gift of adoption is very special to us and our family as we have two nephews and two cousins who are adopted.  They are such a blessing to our family.  We can’t wait to build our family through adoption as well!

About Us
Sam was born and raised in the Philippines.  His parents were both pastors. After his graduation from college he became a missionary and moved to the southern region of the Philippines to minister among college students.  Laura was raised in Southwest Washington by two loving parents who were school teachers.  She later moved away for college and after graduation headed to the Philippines to work among the poor.  Eventually Laura decided to go to seminary in the capital city, Manila.  It was in seminary, pursuing our Master’s degrees that we met and immediately became friends.  We were married two years later and remained in the Philippines for another three years before making the decision to live in the US.

Our Family
Family means everything to us.  Having both been raised in very loving and supportive families, we can’t wait to provide the same environment for our children.  Laura’s parents live just less than 10 minutes away and can’t wait to have a grandchild nearby.  You can be assured that our children will be spoiled by them. J Over the past few years they have immensely enjoyed their role as grandparents to Laura’s sister’s two adopted sons.  Laura’s sister lives about two hours away, but we see each other at least once a month.  Her nephew keeps asking Laura when he will have a cousin.  He can’t wait!!  Sam keeps in good touch with his father who still lives in the Philippines through weekly chats on the phone.  We have wonderful relationships with our families and they are very excited about welcoming a new child into the family; so are Miso and Chai (our two kitties)!

Our Home
We live in a nice community in SW Washington.  Our town has plenty of parks and recreational opportunities for children.  Our home is located in a more rural neighborhood with a large front and backyard which we enjoy playing croquet, baseball, and having picnics.  There is also an outdoor basketball court and gym just a few hundred feet from our home and we live right across the street from an elementary school with a great playground!   You can be assured that in our home, your child will grow up with unconditional love, laughter, encouragement, security and respect.  We are committed to raising them in a family that upholds and teaches Godly values and principles.

Our Day to Day Lives
Sam is one of the pastors at our church and Laura enjoys helping him out as much as she can.  Much of our time is spent overseeing the youth ministry of the church.  We feel privileged to work with the youth and having the opportunity to positively impact their lives.  In our spare time we enjoy hanging out with our family, taking day trips, and visiting new places.  We especially love going out for Pho or Thai food.  In the summer we can be found in the mountains camping or in the beautiful rivers of Idaho fly fishing.  In the winter we enjoy getting up to the mountains for some skiing.

Culture
Cultural exchange is such a big part of who we are.  We love any opportunity we can get to travel to other countries and learn about other cultures and people.  It is our desire that our children experience that as well.  We welcome a child into our family from a different ethnic background and are committed to helping that child understand and embrace their cultural heritage.

Adoption
We know what a difficult decision this is for you.  Should you choose us to be the adoptive parents of your child, we are committed to keeping you updated on your child's growth and progress.  We also desire to have visits with you as you feel comfortable.  We look forward to not only building a special and unique relationship with your child, but with you as well.  We honestly feel we receive the greatest gift through having an open adoption.
We are praying for you as you find God’s best family for your child.

Sincerely,

Sam & Laura
