We are Scott and
Renee and we are so thankful that you are
considering adoption, and for thinking of us as
possible adoptive parents.
Though we cannot begin to know all that
you may be going through right now, we truly
appreciate the tremendous love and courage it
takes for you to travel down the journey of
adoption.
We hope that sharing with you how excited
we are to provide a safe, loving and supportive
home for your child will help you with your
decision.
We are so honored to be a part of this
incredibly personal decision and are so excited
about the prospect of welcoming a child into our
family.
Not only is it the child we are welcoming
into our hearts, but you as well, through an
“open adoption”.
We took a long journey to meet each other as we
might have crossed paths many times as young
children growing up in Seattle, Washington.
The first time we met playing soccer in
our adult soccer league against each other, we
did not know that a mutual friend had intended
to set us up on a blind date, as she never got
around to it.
After deciding to go out for a first
date, we were shocked to find out that we grew
up only blocks away from each other, while
attending the same schools growing up – Boy
marries the Girl next door!
We both firmly believe that fate decided
that we were not prepared to know each other
when we were younger and that we were meant to
meet later in life.
We have been happily married for 5 years!
We are both very active people and love being
outside in the woods, the sun and enjoying all
the wonders that Northwest
Washington has to offer.
The town we live in has a small town
community feel with a Farmer’s Market, concerts
in the park during the summer months,
biking/hiking trails throughout the city, a ski
mountain just an hour away to ski and snowshoe,
plus sailing and water activities close by too.
It is just a great place to raise a
family.
On a daily basis we are hiking or jogging
with our dogs in the woods, working on our ¾
acre property in the flower and vegetable
gardens, and just being outside as much as we
can.
We enjoy cooking good food, having
friends over for dinner, a slumber party with
our nieces, a camping trip to our favorite lake
in the summer and just enjoy a healthy, fun and
balanced life.
We have an amazing network of friends who
all have children (instant playmates) and family
(Renee’s brother lives only 5 minutes away from
us with his family of 3 children) while our
parents both live 1 hour away.
About Renee…..
Renee grew up in
Washington
and graduated college a year behind Scott at the
same university!
She started her own Massage Therapy
business that is still going strong after 14
years, but she is looking forward to being a
full-time mother.
She is compassionate with a very warm
hearted nature towards everyone she meets.
She is naturally gifted as a nurturing
spirit, as she becomes a mother to our nieces
when they spend the night or whenever friends
bring over their kids.
She makes people laugh, is compulsively
organized and makes everything in our home
beautiful.
About Scott……..
Scott also grew up in
Washington, graduated
college, and has been working the past 5 years
as a Financial Advisor.
He has been a soccer fanatic his whole
life and enjoys playing and coaching youth
players at a high level.
He plays soccer on a couple of adult
soccer teams and enjoys a round of golf with the
guys in the summer time.
He is
outgoing and is always available for a hug, a
big contagious smile or an easy laugh.
He has a kind heart and enjoys time with
children as he has been a mentor to a child
through the Big Brothers/Big Sisters
organization.
We live our lives in an open, honest and loving
way and we look forward to an open relationship
with you.
All that we have learned about open
adoption completely encourages us to have a
strong relationship with you for many years and
we feel it is the best scenario for all of
parties involved.
