Donate Online NOW to help the survivors of the
Haitian earthquake
You can make a difference for the
people of Haiti by donating to Journeys’ Haitian Victim Relief
Fund – 100% of all money donated will go to assist the victims
through JOH friends Linda and Ron Sheppard. They have a
long history of relief work in Haiti and have the connections to
get into the country and make a difference. Today, JOH
International Program Director David Slansky is in Haiti with a
team of volunteers distributing life-saving supplies and helping
rebuild that nation. All of the funds involved have come from
donations from friends and families. Will you help?
Your donations will buy what is
needed right now: Food, water and medicine.
Adoption of the children is not now
possible because it will be a difficult process to find out if
the surviving children have any relatives who can care for them.
We are heartened to hear that the orphans who are in the
adoption process with waiting families may be able to leave the
country soon.
Donate online with credit or debit,
using Google Checkout. The link is below, the process is easy
and secure, and the need is now. Journeys of the Heart is a 501
C (3) and donations are tax deductible.

We salute the
Hooijberg/Steinberg Family!
JOH thanks
the Robert Hooijberg and Brenda Steinberg family for
their generous donations to our general fund. Twins
Brianna and Marta were adopted through the Domestic
Program in 1998. |
Says Dad Robert Hooijberg, “The support of Journeys
was wonderful. We would definitely recommend (and have done so quite a
few times) the domestic program to others.” |

Journeys of the Heart gratefully accepts donations to help support our non-profit adoption and relief work. Aside from our adoption fees, charitable donations and events are the only other sources of income for Journeys. The agency receives no income from religious or political organizations.
Your donation may be designated to go into our General Fund, or the Love the Children Fund. If you're mailing in a check, please identify which fund on the memo line of your check.
Donate to the Love the Children Fund:
When Journeys' staff and families travel overseas they see so many children in need, children who may never learn to read, never be adopted because of their disability, or never see their families rise out of poverty. Journeys' mission is to look beyond the children whose adoptions we facilitate - to always remember and provide for those who are left behind. Our relief programs - in China, India, Guatemala, the Pacific Islands and elsewhere - are funded through charitable donations to the Love the Children Fund. Some money may also be used to help facilitate the adoption of older or special needs children.
The Fund is an account where donations, funds, and charitable works are all kept separate from Journeys of the Heart's general accounts and operations. All the money collected for the Fund goes for relief work.
One project within the Fund is the Family Support Project to help adoptive families facing financial hardship or difficult times. For example, one Journeys' mother feared that cancer would prevent her from taking her adopted daughter back to China on a Motherland Tour, as the mother had always dreamed of doing. The Family Support Project collected money to help send the family on the tour. Some money may also be used to keep adoption affordable for some families.

Donate to the General Fund:
Donations will be spent as needs arise. General Fund donations may go to any of the above projects, to new projects in the United states or other countries, or to JOH to help with our adoption work. For example, your donation could help fund a new staff position to reduce the work load on current employees, for office equipment,
facilities maintenance, etc.
You can donate to Journeys by downloading and mailing in the form. Checks should be payable to Journeys of the Heart and mailed to Journeys' home office at P.O. Box 39, Hillsboro, OR 97123. Please write "Donation/General Fund" or "Donation/LCF" on the memo line of your check.
