From Mark and Meg's letter..."There
is so much we would like to tell you about
ourselves to help you in your decision, but most
of all we want you to know that we have more
than enough love for your baby. Our home is a
safe, nurturing, and fun place where all the
kids like to play. We strive to have our house
be the one where the kids want to hang out, and
feel comfortable from the young years through
the teenage years. As we write this, we can
hear Max and his friends from school. We take
turns playing with them, doing crafts, and
hanging out in the yard and driveway with them.
Throughout the day, we have heard the basketball
bouncing, baseball bat hitting the ball,
yelling, and laughing, with the occasional
request for snacks. It is the best music to both
of us."

From
Ernie and Lynn's letter..."We know that by making
this decision you only want what is best for
your child and we respect your desire to find
the right family to love and cherish your baby.
We have the privilege
of living in Hawaii, a truly beautiful place. We
understand what a loving sacrifice it is to
create an adoption plan for your child and we
would be honored to be a part of your plan. We
are excited to share our values and the lessons
we have learned with our children. Some of those
values include the importance of a good
education, working hard for what you have,
learning to appreciate the simple things in life
and treating others with kindness and respect."

From
Scott and Renee's letter..."It
feels like “thank you” isn’t nearly enough for
this incredibly tough decision you are making.
Though we’ve not met, we are in awe of
your compassion and courage. The gift of
adoption is the ultimate act of profound love
and selflessness.
We promise that your baby will be loved,
protected, celebrated and will be surrounded by
family, friends and a community who will always
celebrate them and love them unconditionally.
We will always let them know that you are
an incredible woman who placed their needs above
those of your own."

From Josh and
Michelle's letter..."We love living in Portland.
It offers us the lifestyle and neighborhood we
have always hopped for; walkable, friendly, and
safe. But, most of our family lives in Ohio.
While this can be tough, we make a point to see
them a few times a year and we are sure with a
new addition to our family that the grandparents
will be around much more often! We have an
amazing group of friends that we have known for
almost 15 years, but we are always open to
meeting new people and adding to our circle. Our
friends are important to us because on a day to
day basis they act as our family. They are our
immediate support group."

From
Drew and Stephanie's letter..."We
look forward to starting a family through

family. We hope, through this adoption, we can
continue the chain that has brought so much joy
and love to our lives.
We
believe an open adoption can bring families
together. We look forward to connecting with you
regularly through pictures, letters, and visits.

From
Tommy and Shamone's letter..."We
are very excited to write this letter to you.
Thank you for taking the time to view our
profile to get to know us. Words cannot express
the respect and admiration that we have for you
and the decision you are making. We know
(and are continually learning) that we can never
fully understand or imagine the emotions that
you are feeling.
We are extremely
happy at the thought of being parents and look
forward to the joys of raising a child.
After years of struggling with infertility, we
decided to pursue adoption. Sharing our
love as parents is more important. Our hope is
to maintain a relationship with you that will
help raise a confident and secure child."

From Geoff and
Laura's letter..."The more we learned about
open adoption, the more we knew that it was the
right path for us. We live our life with honesty
and openness, so we feel strongly that an
ongoing connection with the birth family would
be the best thing possible for the child, and
for everyone involved. Our definition of
“family” is already very broad — including step
parents, honorary parents, chosen sisters, and
unofficial nieces and nephews — and we will
truly welcome you and your family into our
lives."

From Gary and Josie's
letter..."We are excited and embrace the
opportunity the prospect of being involved in an
open adoption. We believe that the more people

will be. We can imagine that this has not been
an easy decision for you, and want to reassure
you that we will honor any agreements we make.
It is important to us to know what you want most
for your child, and we will do our best to honor
your wishes. We are fully committed to open
adoption, and look forward to a long-term
relationship where you are an important part of
this child's life."

From Peter and
Barbara's
letter..."One
of toughest hurdles for Peter and Barbara was
trying to have a family.
When Barbara was in high school she had
many ovarian cysts that went undetected.
She was told early on in life that
pregnancy would be very difficult for her.
She always knew in her heart that
adoption would be a way her family was
completed.... We
designed our home with a big family in mind!
Our yard is usually filled with
neighborhood kids playing together.
We are surrounded by wonderful families
that we consider our extended family.
Several other families have been blessed
with adopting, there’s lots of diversity in our
neighborhood.
We have lived here for almost six years
and we hope to be here at least another sixty!"

From Erik and Sara's
Letter...."Choosing adoption is an amazing, self-less gift
to your child.
We admire your maturity and your courage;
both evident in your decision for adoption.
Thank you for considering our family to
join you on this journey. We feel adoption is a
wonderfully noble journey for both birth parents
and adoptive parents.
It is something we have always considered
for our family.
The possibility of an open adoption makes
it all the more exciting.
We believe on-going contact with you, as
a birthparent, is essential for a confident,
well-adjusted child.
Respecting the level of openness and
contact you desire is important to us.
This is our story."

From Bob and Jen's Letter..."We live in Illinois.
Bob is from Illinois
but Jen is a transplant from a small town in
Indiana.
We enjoy the area because it is in the
middle of northeast
Illinois
near the big city yet far enough away to be out
of the rat race.
It is also near most of Bob’s family.
We are family oriented so we cherish
being near them.
We are so excited about our journey in this
adoption process. We believe it is a great
way to grow our family. We have not been
able to conceive a child biologically. We
look forward to opening our hearts to a child
through adoption."

From Erik and
Andrea's letter..."No
matter how far away someone is, they are always
close in your heart.
Open adopting falls into this category
for us.
With all the ways there are
communicating these days, we hope to be able to
stay connected with letters, pictures, etc.
While pictures and letters are good,
nothing can compare to sharing milestones with
you in person.
We embrace the opportunity to visit with
you in person throughout the child’s life.
As parents to any child, we look forward
to keeping the birthparent(s) and their family
involved.
We realize and are grateful that none of
our hopes for a family would be fulfilled if it
weren’t for you."

From Shawn and Veronica's Letter... "We
understand this is a very difficult decision and
we truly respect your choice in determining what
is best for your child. We are both very excited
to share our lives and love with a new baby.
we are excited to have the opportunity to meet
you and answer all of your questions in
person. We understand the level of trust that is
involved with adoption and we would like to
assure you that we have lots of love to give to
a child.
We care deeply about
making sure your child is raised in a home that is
supportive, encouraging, and loving.
We value education and
will make sure your child has the opportunities
to try and explore new things.
Shawn is terrific with
kids, they are drawn to him, probably because he
knows how to get them to laugh and play.
Veronica is a born
nurturer; she loves learning about child
development and looks forward to reading books
and doing art projects with the child."
