A Priceless Gift

Let us begin by saying that everyone’s journey is different and that things can happen unexpectedly, in a good way.  You will find out what I mean from our testimonial.  We will start from the beginning.

After interviewing several different adoption agencies, we knew that JOH was the perfect agency for us.  We first met with Susan; she made us feel very comfortable, was very informative and answered all of our questions.  But besides that we could truly sense that she was an honest and caring woman who is very passionate about adoption.

We then met our domestic adoption coordinator Kimberly who was absolutely wonderful.  She helped us in every step of the way from the beginning paperwork, our portfolios, to my frantic e-mails that we would send her about home studies or just e-mailing to make sure we were on track.  She always kept us well informed and always knew the right things to say to put any fears we had to rest.

After getting everything done and ready to go, we were finally made available for the waiting pool.  One night just after getting into bed and falling asleep our phone rang.  It was Kimberly saying a birthmother and birthfather had picked us and that the baby had just been born, can we come to the hospital.  We knew that this could happen but hearing from other individuals saying that this is unusual we were taken by surprise.  We quickly gathered our stuff and headed to the hospital.

When we got to the hospital we met with Kimberly and she was there for both the birthparents and us every step of the way. We met our new son and his birthparents in the hospital room and spent some time getting to know one another.  That time with all of us together is something that we will always treasure.

The hospital offered us a room and we got to stay just a few doors down from our baby and his birthparents.  In addition, we could also see into the nursery when he was there.

We brought our son home two days after he was born.  It was the most memorable and cherished day of our lives.

Kimberly came to our home just a few days later and we have kept in contact ever since.

JOH has helped us make our dream come true and our family is now complete.  We can never thank them enough or be more appreciative for helping to bring our baby into our lives!
